Why we need innovation
Innovation is about finding ways to make things better and do things better. In the environmental sector, this means finding quicker, cheaper ways to solve our environmental challenges and to create tomorrow’s world in a clean, green way.
EIC’s member companies are doing this day in day out. From air pollution control, to flood resilience, from city master-planning to cutting carbon emissions from buildings, companies are devising new techniques and new technology to bring about the cleaner future we all want in a cost-efficient manner.
EIC wants to see innovation in the environmental business sector rewarded and connected. We are doing three things to bring this about:
- Working with Government to create policy frameworks that provide space and incentives for innovation.
- Carrying out an ‘innovation audit’ of the Government’s 25 Year Environment Plan (with support from Innovate UK).
- Partnering with Lancaster University, who have a world class track record in working with business to deliver and create innovation.
