ABOUT US.
WE ARE ENVIRONMENTAL BUSINESS.
ABOUT US
We represent the companies, large and small, working in the environmental technologies and services sector.
The Environmental Industries Commission (EIC) champions new environmental markets to Government and other stakeholders, representing the views of around 70 members.
The environment sector adds an estimated £29 billion a year to the economy, or 1.6% of the UK’s GDP and employs more than 370,000 people.
We work to ensure environmental policies are thoughtful and progressive, regulations clear and enforced, innovation rewarded, and finance and export opportunities are available.
WHAT IS ENVIRONMENTAL BUSINESS?
Simply put, it is the commercial technology and services that help to deliver the green economy and a better environment for all.
Members work across the full spectrum of environmental business, including in air pollution, carbon reduction, flood defence, contaminated land clean up, recycling and more.

OUR VISION
For a political, economic and commercial framework that enables environmental businesses to grow and make the world a better place.
OUR MISSION
We promote the interests of those who deliver the services and technology in the environmental business sector. We do this by bringing members together to share knowledge, experience and insight. This shapes our tangible business support, as well as our proactive engagement with policymakers across the UK.
OUR PURPOSE
Our members provide solutions to some of our biggest challenges – how do we deliver a Net Zero economy? How do we clean-up the air we breathe and the water we use? How do we deliver a prosperous built environment while restoring biodiversity and providing access to nature and green spaces?
HOW WE WORK
EIC’s eight groups provide our members with local networking opportunities, help establish our opinion and policy and explore interests of critical importance to our members’ business interests, no matter their size.
EIC's marquee event series, Green Data, explores how big data and AI are revolutionising environmental businesses and services.
We are a sister organistion to the Association for Consultancy and Engineering (ACE).
As a member of the ACE family, we are able to offer members access to the Technical Apprenticeship Consortium’s one-stop services on apprentices and skills, and also have strong links with ACE's magazine, Infrastructure Intelligence.
OUR PEOPLE
Now working remotely, our passionate and enthusiastic team are dedicated to supporting our members and championing environmental businesses.
The Advisory Board oversees our work programme, providing strategic support for the direction of EIC and how it can best support its members.
