Consultancy & Engineering Awards Gala
CONSULTANCY & ENGINEERING AWARDS GALA
The Consultancy and Engineering Awards shine a light on the excellence that underpins some of the UK’s most impactful projects.
The evening will celebrate the best projects, businesses, and people who drive progress and success. The awards serve as a platform to showcase the exciting opportunities our sector offers to the next generation. They also aim to acknowledge the sector's importance and its broader social value impact.
Winners of the Association for Consultancy & Engineering Awards will be announced on Thursday, 30 January 2025 at a prestigious gala dinner at the Royal Garden Hotel, Kensington, London.
Meet the Host
Spencer Kelly
Technology Presenter and Journalist
Spencer Kelly is the BBC’s longest serving and most experienced technology presenter and journalist. He’s been hosting Click, the BBC Technology TV programme since 2006, and for more than 20 years has travelled the world, marvelling at how science and innovation is changing people’s lives.
His academic background (a double first in Computer Science from Cambridge and an Honorary Doctorate in Technology) is only the beginning of his accolades - he’s also won the T3 Tech Personality of the Year award, he came a cruel second on Celebrity Mastermind, fronted Panorama, presented at the BAFTAs, and hosted a three world firsts - the world’s first 360 show in virtual reality, the world’s first TV show filmed and edited solely on a mix of phones and tablets, and he fought a wizard in the world’s first multi-choice factual choose your own adventure programme that lets the viewer choose their path through the stories.
His life-long love affair with science and tech has seen him play a robot at ping-pong in Japan, explore the Large Hadron Collider, get rescued by a robot lifeguard, visit the Anti-matter factory, and discover the life-changing impact of just one SIM card in the townships of Africa.
He’s also chatted to the biggest names in the business - Bill Gates, James Cameron, Paul McCartney, will.i.am, Brian Eno, Julian Assange, Edward Snowden, David Attenborough, Stephen Fry, and even talked tech with HM Queen Elizabeth II.
Taking a lead from ACE’s Building Inclusivity campaign, we want to nurture an inclusive ceremony, where people can be themselves and feel comfortable celebrating our industry’s achievements.
With this in mind, we are instead encouraging people to reflect their personal identities. This may include – but is not limited to – cultural dress, cocktail attire, black-tie, lounge suit or business wear.
