Laboratory Analysis Group

Join us for the upcoming Laboratory Analysis Group meeting, which will focus on microplastics.

We will be joined by: 

1. Dr SaeJune Park, Senior Lecturer in THz Electronics & Head of THz Laboratory at Queen Mary University of London. Dr Park is leading a groundbreaking project to develop novel sensors for microplastic detection in aquatic environments using future telecommunication technology.

2. Hayley McIlwraith, PhD researcher co-hosted by the Plymouth Marine Laboratory and the University of East Anglia. Ms McIlwraith has led a new study investigating the robustness of laboratory extraction processes from saltmarsh sediments, suggesting that they may have led to the underestimation of the scale of microplastic pollution. 

3. Dr Rick Parkman, Principal at Ramboll. Dr Parkman is Europe PFAS lead for Ramboll in the UK and Europe and is also an active member of NICOLE, currently involved in their Working Group on PFAS, co-leading the sub-group on policy and regulatory related issues.
