This taskforce is chaired by Adam Read from Suez. As vice chair the group is supported by Simon Rutledge from Biffa, Liz Gray from Ramboll and Alban Forster from SLR Consulting

Join this meeting to delve into the exciting theme of the circular economy and what it means for our industry. The group will examine how to transform waste into valuable resources and its impact on infrastructure investment.

Featuring Alex Rennison Head of Strategy & System Reform at Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra), will discuss their ongoing policies regarding waste and the circular economy and how EIC member best assist Defra.

Michael Conroy, Manager – Environment and Regulatory Affairs at the Mineral Products Association, will be talking about the MPA’s circular economy work.

Two decades ago, Britain's recycling rate ranked among the lowest in Europe. Through the implementation of a new waste legislation framework, increased public engagement with recycling initiatives, and the concerted efforts of the waste management sector, our recycling rate has surged to well over 40%.

EIC’s Waste and Resources Efficiency Taskforce provides members with a platform to showcase how technology and services can help meet government ambitions in this space.

The group informs EIC’s thought leadership in this area by producing innovative yet tangible proposals to encourage innovation, responds to government consultations, holds events, writes articles for the industry press, and regularly welcomes policymakers and industry experts as guests.
