This week, on behalf of our Environmental Industries Commission and Association for Consultancy and Engineering members, we shared our Budget Submission with the Government.
In summary and building on our manifesto, we asked for the following measures to be adopted so that our members can support Government’s ambitions to kickstart economic growth and make Britain a clean energy superpower;
- A funded pipeline of projects
- A refreshed infrastructure strategy alongside a long-term funding settlement
- Sensible insurance limits and limits on liability
- A review of the economics of climate change adaptation including nature-based solutions
- Good jobs and productivity growth in every part of the country, breaking down barriers to opportunity
- Stopping competitive tendering for allocating regional funding, and empowering local decision making
We will be reporting on how the budget addresses these key asks and will continue our dialogue with members, Government and other key stakeholders in more detail to help drive these requests forward.
