EIC’s cross-industry ED&I campaign, Building Inclusivity returns in 2023, with a full programme of activity to support members and the industry create more inclusive workplaces.
Building on the success of its online roundtables in 2022, a new series will explore ageism, disability, gender and social mobility throughout the year. As with last year’s roundtables, these online events will bring together subject matter experts, the shared experiences from those working in the sector, and industry best-practice from member companies.
Find out more and book your place now. Our first online roundtable Age is No Barrier takes place on Wednesday 22 February 2023 at 12pm.
The campaign will also work with third-parties to support a number of innovative projects in this space, including working with football STEM programme Fest Hub, charity Young Enterprise, and the Welsh Apprentice Alliance (WAA). Members interested in supporting this activity are invited to get in touch with Claire Clifford.
A large focus for 2023 will be on the launch of our People First Charter, a positive benchmark for industry improvement and an opportunity for members to collaborate across the sector and demonstrate their leadership. The Charter will launch at a session at UKReiff in Leeds on Thursday 18 May 2023.
Finally, the campaign will support and interact with other national campaigns and activity in this space, providing a platform for members to showcase their leadership across EIC and Infrastructure Intelligence. This includes National Apprenticeship Week in February, Mental Health Awareness Week in May and International Women in Engineering Day (INWED) in June.
Commenting on the programme, EIC’s Director of People, Culture and Skills, Claire Clifford said: “We’re delighted to share our plans for Building Inclusivity for the year ahead. We’ve a busy programme of events, projects and campaigns to work on and would welcome anyone reaching out to me to explore how your company can get involved.”
“This all starts with our first roundtable exploring ageism in the workplace on Wednesday 22 February at 12pm. I look forward to seeing you there.”
