HELPING YOU MAKE THE MOST OF COP26

EIC previews how it will cover major climate change conference in November

With the eyes of the world on Glasgow this November for what is expected and hoped to be a milestone for the climate change movement and our path to Net Zero, EIC is today outlining how it will be covering the major political event and international conference, COP26.

The 2021 edition of the United National Annual Climate Change Conference – to give it its full title – has ambitious aims to realise international agreements on securing global Net Zero by 2050, on adapting to protect communities and natural habitats, on mobilising finance to play its part, and on increasing collaboration between governments, businesses and civil society across the world to meet these targets.

With the pandemic limiting traditional possibilities for engagement, helping members digest the conference, its sessions and myriad of fringe events will be our primary focus, as will reinforcing the crucial role our members play in delivering a Net Zero future.

Where possible we will be sharing opportunities for members to engage virtually, including with associated groups such as the UK Green Building Council (UKGBC) and the Construction Leadership Council (CLC), as well as a busy programme of relevant events organised by sister organisation ACE and its magazine Infrastructure Intelligence.

In addition, EIC will produce two guides to help members make the most of COP26. A pre-conference briefing will outline how they can get involved, with the post-conference guide will explore the agreements and reaction.
