Our forthcoming In Conversation With… webinar features the biodiversity lead at National Highways, and takes place on Wednesday 19 October at 12pm to 1pm.
EIC welcomes Laurence Lewis Jones, principal environmental advisor – head of biodiversity at National Highways.
Laurence has over ten years’ experience as an environmental advisor, policy advisor, ecologist, and researcher. He has led diverse teams with a range of specialities supporting the development of environmental policies and legislation, including the Environment Act and its accompanying secondary legislation.
He has delivered, monitored and evaluated strategies for government policies and initiatives, provided technical environmental advice on Environmental Impact Assessments, habitat regulation assessments, and environmental appraisals on nationally significant infrastructure projects.
The presentation will cover National Highways’ journey on delivering challenging targets on Biodiversity No Net Loss and Net Gain, and how they are improving the management of their soft estate through the use of data.
Commenting on the online event, Guto Davies, EIC’s head of policy, said: “This will be a great opportunity for members to find out more about how a major public body is approaching biodiversity and discover how they can support National Highways in delivering these vital aims.”
“As with our previous In Conversation With events, there is plenty of room for discussion and debate, as well as time for questions from the audience, so this is a great opportunity for anyone working for an EIC member to interact directly with a major client.”
Given the focus of the event, we are also welcoming ACE members to the session and are delighted that Robert Spencer, global head of ESG advisory services at AECOM and chair of EIC’s Nature and Biodiversity taskforce will lead the discussion.
Places are free for anyone working for an EIC or ACE member. Book now.
