EIC welcomed Laurence Lewis Jones, principal environmental advisor – head of biodiversity at National Highways to present his organisation’s current approach and work on biodiversity to members.
With more than ten years experience as an environmental and policy advisor, ecologist, and researcher, he delivered an informative presentation exploring issues such as National Highways’ environmental sustainability strategy, net gain commitments for biodiversity, their own biodiversity fund, and what makes a for holistic road projects which encompass biodiversity goals.
In a well-attended webinar, which also welcomed representatives from ACE members, attendees will have left with a better understanding of how a major public sector client is delivering on broader sustainability goals.
Commenting on the member only webinar, Paul Barnes, policy researcher at EIC said: “On behalf of EIC, I’d like to thank Laurence for spending time with us presenting National Highways work on biodiversity. It was refreshing to see a major client address a major issue head on and I’m sure members will have welcomed the conversation.”
“The webinar was skilfully led by Robert Spencer, global head of ESG advisory services at AECOM and chair of EIC’s Nature and Biodiversity taskforce who fielded a range of questions which provided an insightful understanding of National Highways’ biodiversity objectives.”
