With COP26 underway, the body which brings the construction sector and Government together, the Construction Leadership Council (CLC), has announced five new Net Zero Business Champions, with EIC member Accelar among the new cohort.
The business champions make commitments to help the sector’s drive towards reducing carbon emissions in the delivery and operation of the built environment and work alongside the CLC to share innovations and best practice, acting as promotors and role models to support the industry’s move to Net Zero carbon.
CLC Co-chair Andy Mitchell said: “I’m delighted to welcome our latest cohort of Business Champions. There has never been greater attention on carbon reduction, and we know the built environment will play a huge role in cutting global carbon. As COP26 gets underway it is brilliant that our sector is stepping up and showing leadership on the road to net zero.”
Chris Fry, managing director at EIC member Accelar said: “We are delighted to play our part in the transformation of the construction industry as Net Zero business champions. “
“Accelar is all about helping to accelerate the green transition, not least by improving the measurement, benchmarking and reduction of carbon which ties in to one of CO2nstructZero’s top priorities.”
“Ultimately decarbonisation involves working together to define the future, and I commend the collaborative zeal shown by emerging leaders from across the sector including my colleague, carbon specialist Lyndsey Vipond.”
