CAN THE UK ACHIEVE NET ZERO TRANSPORT?

As part of this week’s Green Infrastructure Week, the Association for Consultancy and Engineering (ACE) is hosting a Net Zero Roads webinar to discuss whether the nation’s ambitious aims around green transport can be achieved.

The national effort to make the UK economy fully net zero by 2050 affects every sector and it has huge implications for how the built environment is designed, delivered and managed. The Committee for Climate Change’s Sixth Carbon Budget requires the roll out of zero emission vehicles, the infrastructure to support them and significant reductions in demand for travel.

The National Infrastructure Commission has also said that the government needs to speed up its work to decarbonise transport and it’s clear that the clock is ticking on the issue. Specific and sustainable action is needed if the government – and the nation – is to realise its net zero targets.

Join ACE and Green Infrastructure Week on Wednesday 27 April 2022 at 12 noon for a discussion on carbon-free roads and whether the UK’s ambitions for net zero transport can be achieved. Chaired by Andy Bell (Ramboll highways director and chair of ACE’s transport group), the panel includes speakers from ACE, National Highways, Arup and Copper Consultancy.

The free webinar takes place during Green Infrastructure Week and is open to all. Attendees contact details will also be shared with campaign organisers.
