INNOVATION ZERO HIGHLIGHTS COMPANIES ON SUSTAINABILITY MISSION

From startups to established solutions suppliers in the clean tech space, Innovation Zero, taking place on 24-25 May at Olympia London, features hundreds of companies who are on a mission to provide reliable and sustainable energy solutions that empower individuals, businesses and communities to thrive.

Exhibitors include at least one Earthshot Prize nominee, a hemp supply chain platform, a sustainable cloud provider, a company that is developing technology to create materials in space that cannot be produced on Earth and a US company that is reducing barriers for everyone to tap into clean, abundant solar power.

Freya Burton, chief sustainability officer at LanzaTech, an Earthshot Prize finalist, will be speaking on a panel entitled ‘Towards Carbon Zero Aviation’ in the Catalyst Theatre on 24 May at 12:30.

LanzaTech feeds carbon emissions to trillions of carbon-hungry microbes to turn pollution into valuable raw materials.

Freya said: “It’s exciting to see the progress in meeting net zero.

“We will only achieve our goals by working together and embracing all sustainable solutions.

“LanzaTech has a technology big enough to meet the moment and I am looking forward to sharing our experiences in scaling new technology and crossing the valley of death at Innovation Zero.”

Other companies taking part in Innovation Zero include Rare Earth, which is developing a hemp supply chain platform that delivers decarbonised products from the hemp plant to meet the needs of industry and consumers.

They have secured demand for over one million tonnes of carbon neutral products to be delivered by 2030.

Nominated for the Earthshot Prize in 2022 and recently recognised by The Times as one of the Top 3 UK construction Rising Stars, Low Carbon Materials will also be on-hand to introduce OSTO®, the carbon negative lightweight aggregate for carbon zero blockwork.

PeaSoup will also be attending. The firm offers an award-winning 100% sustainable cloud provider for cloud infrastructure (IaaS), backup and recovery (BaaS) and disaster recovery (DRaaS) as a service, that are simple to deploy and manage. The company was the first cloud provider in the UK to offer cloud services using this planet-friendly technology commercially.

Innovation Zero will also benefit from hearing about Powerfield Energy. Through their commitment to efficiency and environmental responsibility, US-based PowerField Energy strive to deliver cutting-edge renewable energy technologies that reduce the carbon footprint and drive the transition towards a cleaner, more sustainable future.

Space Forge, a Cardiff based company will also be making the trip to London. The firm is developing in-space manufacturing through the creation of a returnable satellite platform that leverages the benefits of space to make new materials that are not possible on Earth. These materials will impact our lives by reducing energy loss, make vehicles lighter, among other benefits, with the ultimate aim of reducing carbon dioxide emissions by a factor of three or more.

Attendees at Innovation Zero can meet with these companies and representatives from 200+ decarbonisation changemakers from the UK and across the world.

There is no charge to visit and attendees will also have access to 129 free congress sessions that run alongside the exhibition across both days.
