Circular Economy or Bust
Is it time to rethink infrastructure delivery? The UK government will publish a new Circular Economy Strategy in Autumn 2025. It is a smarter, more sustainable way of doing business, driving growth and managing resources.
Recommendations for a circular economy for infrastructure:
1. Prevent or reduce: Design for resource efficiency and opportunity
2. Reuse: Habitualise the circular economy
3. Recycle: Align the industrial strategy with the circular economy
4. Recover: Create the right incentives
5. Dispose: Make landfill the last resort
"The circular economy is not just an environmental fix - it is a growth strategy that can cut waste, boost productivity, and future-proof UK infrastructure. By rethinking how we design, build and reuse, the UK can unlock new markets, create jobs, and deliver resilient communities.” Kate Jennings, Chief Executive Officer, Environmental Industries Commission
